Project Historian is an enhanced Electronic Data Cataloging, Archiving and Storage Service that has the capability to handle data of multiple formats.
Tender documents, engineering plans and calculations, as built drawings, engineering drawings, contracts, quality control documents, technology and design documents and licenses can now be preserved for future references & to best conduct activities from O & M to expansion and enhancement. It thus creates an ideal system for all companies that generate immense volumes of documentation.
Completely managed service
Consulting study carried out by experts for understanding the requirements and suggest the best implementation approach
The system accepts and archives data in multiple formats:
| |
"Text Documents, Video Files, Pictures, X-rays, Engineering Drawings are stored and archived irrespective of data format" |
Archived files can be hyperlinked, enabling simple and intuitive navigation through documents
| |
"Link relevant NDT field reports with x-rays" |
| |
"Link a P&ID with relevant data sheets and inspection reports" |
Web-enabled system
Collaborative knowledge and skill sharing
Scalable to handle large volumes
User Friendly
A Typical System Flow is illustrated below:
Tedious retrieval procedures, leading to high retrieval time
Non-return of original “paper or CD media” documents to the filing location, and possibly misfiling.
Damage to originals by repeated handling or Un-authorized tampering of documents
Fading or discoloration of paper and print
Multiple copies, often with different noting and observations
Insufficient storage space for documents
Inaccessibility to documents at multiple or remote locations, and high expenses associated with their movement to alternate locations
Version control not possible.
Varied media needs to be stored differently – Training videos are stored on CD’s/ DVD’s, X-rays and UT’s are stored separately, while other documentation stored in different locations
No need for you to change your processes to suit Project Historian – our implementation experts have the relevant domain expertise to analyze and adapt Project Historian to customer based Filing and Indexing practices
Being web enabled, Project Historian allows secure access to documents across geographies - hence, work teams can have access to documents generated at a remotely offices, mark comments and collaborate on the documents.
Archival of multiple versions ensures that information pertaining to all stages of a project can be stored electronically
Creation of hyperlinks between relevant documents: For example, you may want to locate a specific part, but only remember that an individual had sent a mail to you. Using Project Historian, you can link up to the items documentation via the email, and then delve deeper into the details of the equipment by hyper-linking the detailed diagrams to a main diagram
Data Security is built into the system through an encrypted database, expanded administrative controls and an audit trail that logs each action on the system. This allows an Administrator to see any changes/ actions taken within the system by any user, and take action accordingly
Being a very user-friendly system, it ensures shorter training periods and hence faster and more effective implementation
